Contractor Balfour Beatty today announced that their forward order book grew by £400M in the first five months of this year, taking current total orders to £11.8bn
The figures showing the group's strong performance does not include a recent contract award for the £166M 281 North Toll Project in San Antonio, Texas.
The group attributes its appointment as preferred bidder for the M25 road widening and maintenance scheme to assisting the 'substantial growth' of their overall future work pipeline.
Estimates for the revenue from Balfour Beatty's activities in Dubai are expected to be around £700M, and after raising £186M through the sale of shares, the group intends to continue its programme of acquisitions.
An agreement has been made to acquire the German rail engineering firm Schreck-Mieves for just over £28M which the group hopes will strength their presence in the rail market.
