Masterclass to outline monitoring potential

Monitoring no longer has to be the preserve of large, flagship construction projects but can deliver benefits on smaller schemes and for decision making, according to monitoring specialist Itmsoil.

“As well as providing real-time monitoring during the construction phase of work, systems can be used in geotechnical and structural applications to help asset owners understand risk and how this may impact on their business,” said Itmsoil business development manager Nick Slater.

Itmsoil is gathering a host of instrumentation and monitoring industry experts to discuss these issues at a masterclass to be held on 26 February in South Kensington, London ahead of the main GE Instrumentation and Monitoring Conference the following day.

According to Slater, the day will cover four different themes to look at asset life extension, adaptation to climate change, incident mitigation and the practical implication of working with monitoring systems.

Itmsoil has said that delegates attending the event, which is aimed at policy setters, business planners, operators, capital project managers and investors, will gain insight into how monitoring can deliver efficiency in manpower, processes, communication and management.

“Our speakers will be using case studies to demonstrate the benefits of using monitoring intelligently, as well as looking at how to set up systems and integrate them into day to day business operations,” said Slater.
