Foundations on Europe’s tallest building completed

Bauer has reported that it has successfully completed the foundations for what will be Europe’s tallest building despite some challenging ground conditions.

The 460m high Lakhta Tower in St Petersburg, Russia will be the headquarters of Gazprom when it is completed in 2018.

According to Bauer, the location of the site next to the coastline created some difficult soil conditions for construction of the 264 piles to depths of up to 82m.
