Judges start visiting programme for the BCI Awards 2009
Members of the British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA) judging panel went to the West Country last week setting in motion the visit programme to the 35 UK projects shortlisted for this year’s awards.
The panel met teams responsible for a new flood defence scheme, which protects the village of Ham, near Taunton, from flooding.
The judges then visited Bristol Metropolitan College (pictured), a new building capable of accommodating 1,000 pupils, built as a replacement structure on existing school grounds.
Both projects are among the 24 schemes also eligible for the Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award.
