Transport for London today confirmed that the Balfour Beatty/Carillion joint venture has won phase one of the East London Line project, worth £363M.

NCE reported that the team was favourite to win two weeks ago (NCE 12 October).
The team beat rival consortium E-Link, consisting of Laing O'Rouke, Amec Spie and Vinci.
Managed by Parson's Brinkerhoff the main works contract covers phase one of the ELL project extending the existing line to Dalston Junction in the north and New Cross Crystal Palace and West Croydon in the south.
The contract involves all major civils work including two new bridges, new stations and a new depot at New Cross Gate, track work, signalling, telecommunications and electrification.
