Capita win £70M Sefton job

Capita Symonds has signed a £70M deal to provide engineering services for Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council for 10 years.

Under the deal, the consultant will work to deliver highway and property services including architecture and quantity surveying, building maintenance and mechanical/electrical design, engineering design, property management, highways management, street lighting and drainage.

In March 2008 Capita Symonds selected Sefton as preferred bidder for the partnership which is valued at £70M and includes the option of a five year extension. Around 150 council employees will transfer to Capita Symonds on 1 October.

Leader of Sefton Council, Councillor Tony Robertson, said: "It has been a major step forward for the Council and the residents of Sefton that we have been able to form a partnership with a major company with an excellent track record in providing high quality services and value for money."
