Scott Wilson to design Farringdon Crossrail station
Consultant Scott Wilson has won the £9.6M contract to design the new Crossrail station at Farringdon in central London.
Farringdon station will be one of the most important Crossrail interchanges, providing a link to the Thameslink upgrade.
Scott Wilson’s contract is Design Package C136 for Farringdon Station and was awarded as part of the Central Section Framework.
The contract is worth £9.6M over two and a half years.
Scott Wilson is also working on designs for Network Rail on the overground sections of Crossrail, worth additional £9.8M and work on Westbourne Park station worth £1.5M.
Group chief executive Hugh Blackwood said: “We are delighted to have secured this first major package on the Central Section Framework and to continue our role on what will be Europe’s largest rail project.
“Our relationship with Crossrail dates back a number of years and we are looking forward to a strong and continued association. Our strategy of developing our metro capability includes the previously announced acquisitions of Terence Lee Partnership and Benaim which formed a key part of this success.”
