Insite news: Rail boss's call for women engineers

Talented engineers of both genders will be needed to make Britain a leader in rail infrastructure, he said when launching Network Rail’s campaign for women’s employment in the rail industry.

“I’m sure that they are being put off by an outdated image of what we do and what we need. This is a scandalous waste,” he said.
Network Rail apprentice Daryl Levison said it feels like there is “no difference” between her and the male apprentices.

“When I went out on the track for the first time, I realised that this is a place where I can fit in and work in a team,” she said. “I really enjoy learning something new.”
