Andrew Wood (NCE 4 September) is quite right that consulting engineers do not advertise themselves enough and at Castleford Footbridge there should have been a Tony Gee and Partners banner alongside Costain's as the designer (NCE 4 September).
Point taken, will do better.
However, TGP did interact with the local residents when our students convention viewed the site in 2007 and discussed with them how they will benefit from the new link.
The residents were proud to show off their own photo albums recording daily the progress on site and were fully aware of the impact engineers were having on their environment. Full marks to Costain for forming such a good relationship with the local community.
