What's good about your industry? Do you have the right tools to do your job? How do you see your career progressing? Is nuclear power right for the UK? Are you worried about climate change? Are you paid enough?
These are just a few of the wide-ranging issues discussed by the brand new NCE/Autodesk civil engineering survey which we hope will provide a unique insight into attitudes and issues within the profession.
It is an ambitious project but we hope that the results will provide valuable benchmarks to help the industry to improve businesses to plan for the future careers and opportunities.
Of course we also expect your feedback will help us to better tailor NCE's editorial content - both in the weekly magazine and online daily - in the future to meet the needs of our readers.
NCE has teamed up with leading software house Autodesk, a brand which for decades has sat at the heart of your businesses. If the results are successful we expect this to be the first in a series of regular industry surveys to uncover your views, your careers, your aspirations and your expectations.
The goal is for everyone in the industry to get involved. To make this easy for you we have provided an umber of different ways for you to get involved. You can do any of the following:
- Fill in the questionnaire which is bound in to the magazine this week and return to us in the post.
- Download the questionnaire as a pdf and either return it to us in the post or email it to nceedit@emap.com with SURVEY in the subject.
- Fill in the survey online using our specially created survey tool. This will take you quickly through the survey in a matter of minutes.
No matter which way you choose to get involved, everyone who completes a questionnaire will be automatically entered into our free prize draw. Five winners will be chosen at random and will receive £100 worth of vouchers to spend with on-line superstore Amazon.
The results of the survey will appear in NCE during October and will form the basis of a live discussion event to follow.
Hopefully you will also be able to use the results to kick off and inform debates around the office and in the pub. The survey is about you, for you and by you - make sure that you get involved.
