Graduate award deadline is imminent – don’t miss out
Graduates who gained civil engineering degrees last year have less than two weeks to enter one of construction’s most highly respected competitions, the NCE Graduate Awards.
Prize money has been increased by up to 50% this year, with the overall winner in line for a £1,500 cash prize.
The awards acknowledge and reward the best all round young civil engineers. The enthusiasm and motivation of competitors is as important as their overall academic achievement.
The awards encourage talented individuals to take up leading roles in the industry. “It is vital, especially in these challenging times, that we encourage our brightest graduates as it is they who will guide and lead our industry over the next few decades,” said Andy Milner, managing director of awards sponsor Amey Consulting.
“They are essential players in the future importance of the civil engineering profession and need all the support and recognition we can give them.”
Sponsored by 13 of construction’s leading companies, the awards attract intense competition worldwide. Prizes totalling over £4,000 will handed out at a gala lunch at the ICE in December. Any graduate who obtained a civil engineering or related degree in 2009 can enter.
- This year support from the graduate’s employer is not needed and the simple entry form is available online at www.nce. co.uk/graduateawards. For more information contact Awards secretary David Hayward on (01325) 461149 or email email@example.com
